I’ve written about the Four Agreements on this blog in the past. You can read the Second Agreement here. This post focuses on the Fourth Agreement which is, “Always do your best.” I try to follow this agreement every day and I have to say, it does make a difference.
When you always do the best you can, you’ll also change your thoughts which is important to creating lasting change in your life. Doing your best on every task doesn’t leave room for that little voice in your head to ridicule you or say you’re not good at whatever it is you’re attempting to accomplish.
In fact, as you practice living the four agreements, your life will dramatically change. The hardest part is getting started. In the beginning these new habits will be challenging and you will lapse countless times. Don’t put yourself down. Use self-compassion to treat yourself well.
Always Do Your Best – the Four Agreements
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.
